James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

Meet some of the Characters:

James Henry Trotter is a lonely boy who lives with his horrible aunts - that is, until something magical happens...

Aunt Spiker was lean and tall and bony and she wore steel-rimmed spectacles that fixed on to the end of her nose with a clip. She had a screeching voice and long wet narrow lips...

Aunt Sponge was enormously fat and very short. She had small piggy eyes, a sunken mouth, and one of those white flabby faces that looked exactly as though it had been boiled.

Old-Green-Grasshopper..."Young fellow," he said, speaking in a deep, slow, scornful voice, "I have never been a pest in my life. I am a musician."

Centipede..."Well, James, have you ever in your life seen such a marvellous colossal Centipede as me?"
